Professor Julie Ho is an academic transplant nephrologist in the Sections of Nephrology and Biomedical Proteomics, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Ho is the Medical Director for the Transplant Manitoba Adult Kidney Program and a Principal Investigator at the Manitoba Center for Proteomics and Systems Biology, where she completed her post-doctoral research fellowship in 2008. Her research contributions have been recognized with a 2011-2014 KRESCENT New Investigator Award co-funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Kidney Foundation of Canada;
2014-2015 Manitoba Medical Services Foundation Dr FW DuVal Clinical Research Professorship; and 2014 Canadian Society of Nephrology New Investigator Lectureship.
Dr Ho was awarded the 2014 American Society of Transplantation Clinical Science Career Development Award and a prestigious 2015-2020 CIHR New Investigator Award. The goal of her translational research program is to improve our understanding of the fundamental human responses to early renal injury and use these data to develop new approaches to improve kidney transplant and patient outcomes.
